Cliff Eberhardt is a singer/songwriter with an attitude. He has made his mark in the new acoustic/contemporary scene as a sensitive tough guy whose guitar playing can be both hard-driving and intricate--once dubbed by Christine Lavin the, "bad boy of folk."
After a short career writing jingles (Heartbeat of America, from old Chevy commercials, must be his real greatest hit), he chose a different path. Cliff's songs have been called, "Stories you can touch, taste and feel." More than a few of his songs are about love and heartbreak, but whatever the subject, his lyrics can be counted on to be intelligent and articulate.
His career was interrupted a few years ago by an automobile accident, but Cliff is someone who can turn his own pain and suffering into a good time for an audience. If his humor tends toward bittersweet and sardonic, he remains a very funny man. Cliff last performed for the Folk Song Club in 1998, and we are pleased to welcome his return.
